Random values
Each bird gets its own; these are what the game's materials and body shapes read.
How a chicken gets its look
A pet starts as an egg, hatches into a yellow chick, then grows into a pullet and finally a hen. The breed and its colour show from the pullet stage: Catalana, Silkie or Polish, each with its own set of colours, some far more common than others.
On top of the colour, every bird has a handful of random values, which the game's materials turn into small shifts in hue, saturation and brightness and into which markings show. The body varies the same way: each bird has its own build, leg and neck length, and wing, head and comb size, within ranges that are narrower and younger for pullets than for hens.
